He is a trusted commentator for the Financial Times, BBC, Wall Street Journal, CNN, and Forbes. He advises executive teams internationally, is a Civilian Subject Matter Expert at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (British Army), was the 2022 Shimomura Fellow at the Development Bank of Japan, Tokyo and is Special Advisor to White and Black.

Jonathan holds a doctorate in management studies from the University of Cambridge and was a visiting scholar at MIT.
